Guy
began playing trumpet at the age of nine and has studied
with Yvonne Harmon, Charlie Geyer and Bud Herseth. He is
currently principal trumpet with the Northbrook Symphony
Orchestra and the West Surburban Symphony Orchestra, and
soprano cornet with the Chicago Brass Band. He also performs
with the the 10-piece brass ensemble, CBB Players, and the
Northbrook
Brass Quintet and is a freelance perfomer.
He was principal cornet of the Illinois Brass Band for many years, and also performed with the Lake Forest Symphony, Westminster Chamber Orchestra, Winnetka Chamber Orchestra, the Wilmette Starlight Theatre, and the Highland Park Apple Tree Theatre, as well as California-based groups: San Jose Wind Symphony, Gabrielli Brass, Redwood Symphony Orchestra, and the Master Symphonia and Mission Chamber Orchestras.
He holds Bachelors of Science degrees in Bio-Engineering and Biology and is an electrical engineer at Siemens Building Technologies in Buffalo Grove. Guy is married to fellow orchestra trumpeter, Laura Shea-Clark. They reside in Northbrook with their two cats, Smokey and Grendel.
